Yo La Tengo have released the first in a five-part video series to promote their upcoming LP Popular Songs due on September 8th on Matador. Keep checking the Yo La Tengo Popular Songs video page for new additions. Yo La Tengo will be releasing their new album titled Popular Songs on September 8th. Matador Records describes Popular Songs as a large departure for a band that is already famous for their “stylistic range”: No, it’s 1996…and yes, I’m going to say that MTV is actually doing something really cool. Last night on Conan, one of my all-time favorite bands, Yo La Tengo, served as the backing band for She & Him, probably one of my most listened to albums of 2008, to create the ultimate viewing experience. I’ll post a higher-quality video as soon as it pops it’s little self up on Hulu, but [...] iTunes has an exclusive “Live Sessions EP” for Yo La Tengo that features 4 tracks: 2006 was a great year for music, especially when compared to 2005. In fact, I had such a hard time picking my 10 favorite albums that I have expanded my list to 20 this year. The new Yo La Tengo album I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass won’t be released until September 12th, but those who pre-order from select online retailers will receive a Yo La Tengo “Season Pass” which allows them to stream the full album before it’s released, as well as access [...] While browsing the iTunes Music Store today, I saw an ad for Anderson Cooper’s “Celebrity Playlist.” With a quick chuckle, I decided to see what this guy listened to and was SHOCKED with what I discovered. |
