Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the year again; time to unveil my top albums!. This was a fantastic year for music, hence my expanding this list from 20 to 25. Even with that expansion, there were still some very fine albums that did not make the cut. Such honorable mentions as Headlights [...] Sigur Rós’ latest video for the song Við spilum endalaust can be seen here. Every friday, AmazonMP3 has a “5 albums for $5 each” deal. There’s usually something decent in the list, but more often than not the decent record is something I already own. This happens to be the case with this week as well with Sigur Rós‘ Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. This is hands [...] Tomorrow (Saturday, June 28th) at 3pm EST, National Geographic Music will be streaming a live concert from Reykjavik featuring hometown favorites Sigur Rós and Björk. The free show is a benefit to raise the awareness of the impact that the growing aluminum smelting is having on Iceland’s environment. I will say that it was pretty easy for me to make my Top 10 list, but unlike last year, there wasn’t a huge surplus of records left off. For those of you that won’t be catching Sigur Rós when they make their second go-around of the United States early in ‘06, here’s a lovely example of just what you’ll be missing.
