I am having an argument with significant others and friends on which movie looks worse, The Love Guru or You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.

To keep this as fair as possible, I won’t tell you which one I think will be the worst case of cinematic garbage since Norbit*.

Here are the trailers for both films:

The Love Guru

You Don’t Mess With the Zohan

Please share your input:

*I have never seen Norbit, but viewing this movie is not necessary in deciding it to be one of the worst films ever created.

The Worst Movie of 2008?

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Wow…I just had the misfortune of watching the trailer for the upcoming movie The Hottie and the Nottie. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you the worst movie of 2008, and quite possibly, ever…

New Years Mini-Update

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Hope everyone had a great holiday and a happy new year. I’m very excited by the music landscape of 2008 so far especially after getting my hands on both the new Cat Power and Vampire Weekend full length. I highly recommend both. Here are a few other things that I’ve been thinking about recently…

•I happened to stumble upon a trailer for a new Keira Knightley movie called “The Duchess”:

Seriously, can someone call her agent and tell them ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN PERIOD PIECES ALREADY? Not only do I despise period piece movies, but it’s a complete waste to cover up such a beautiful specimen in all those ugly-ass frilly Victorian dresses. (And I’m aware that she’s been in some non period-piece movies lately, but I hardly call “Domino” and “The Jacket” worthy films.)

•I happened to catch The Simpsons Movie over the break and I have to say I was actually pleasantly surprised. I’m one of those people that thinks the The Simpsons should’ve been taken off the year 10 years ago, but the film actually was quite enjoyable.

•There’s a great new EP by The Smashing Pumpkins on iTunes titled American Gothic. It’s all acoustic and all awesome.

•Also in the iTunes spirit, a free track from Ms. Regina Spektor called “My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year).” Get it before it’s gone.

•Mark your calendars because February 4th marks the return of one of my biggest guilty pleasures of all time: “Paradise Hotel 2” premiers on MyNetworkTV & Fox Reality. (I just hope it is half as good as the first one.)

•All this talk of Keira Knightley makes me want to post a picture of her royal hotness.
Yup, she’s beautiful!

Some Random Thoughts

•If you haven’t checked out these albums yet, what are you waiting for??? :
Matt Pond PA - Last Light
Minipop - A New Hope
Sigur Rós - Hvarf/Heim
Various - I’m Not There OST <–Yo La Tengo, Cat Power & Stephen Malkmus covering Dylan…need I say more?

•Is anyone else as sick to death of the Bee Movie marketing as I am?

•”It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is officially the funniest show since “Arrested Development.”

•I hope Larry and Cheryl get back together.

•I’m so sick of hearing about those cheaters the Patriots and their quest to be undefeated. I never thought a team going for 16-0 would piss me off MORE than the 1972 Dolphins.

•Who the hell thought it was a good idea to give Kim Kardashian a show.

•”I Love New York 2″ is very entertaining when there is absolutely nothing else to watch on TV.

•The writers strike sucks.

•Halloween blows when it’s on a Wednesday.

•Can someone please punch Perez Hilton in his fat little face?

Heartbreak Kid Soundboard

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Soundboards are really a lovely thing. My all-time favorite has to be the Jim Rome soundboard. It has caused many laughs in the workplace.

I just received a copy of an “official” soundboard for The Heartbreak Kid. If you ask me, any soundboard with Jerry Stiller’s voice is a winner in my book.

The Heartbreak Kid opens October 8th.

Air Guitar Nation

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

This weekend I saw the most kick-ass documentary I’ve seen in a long time. It’s called Air Guitar Nation and follows American air guitarists C-Diddy and Björn Turoque as they try and conquer the world Air Guitar Championships in Finland.

If you find the video below even mildly entertaining, you will have your world rocked by this film.

The Heartbreak Kid

Friday, August 17th, 2007

One of my Mom’s all-time favorite movies is The Heartbreak Kid. Needless to say, she was very excited to see that it’s being re-made, nonetheless by the Farrelly Brothers. When I saw the trailer before Knocked Up, it peaked my interest once I saw the beautiful Malin Akerman is in it. Check out the trailer below and a few gratuitous shots of Malin as well.

Hey Hollywood, way to ruin one of my childhood loves! Didn’t you get the memo? Hip-hop is dying.

More Blades of Glory

Here are some very promising stills from “Blades of Glory.” There’s also a website up and running, but the only thing there is the trailer. In the meantime, these will have to hold you over. (Click for full size images.)
