Ringo Starr - Liverpool 8

Ringo Starr – Liverpool 8Let me preface this by saying I love Ringo Starr. Not just the musician, but the man. He’s always been second to George as my favorite Beatle, and always struck me as one guy I’d love to share beers with and hear all his crazy stories from the past. I’ve been very curious to hear Liverpool 8 and now that I have, I can say this album is wonderful.

The album starts off with the title track and is a beautiful, happy homage to Ringo’s life with the Beatles. With lyrics such as:

Went to Hamburg, the red lights were on
With George & Paul, and my friend John
We rocked all night, we all looked tough
We didn’t have much, but we had enough

and

In the U.S.A. when we played Shea
We were Number One, and it was fun
When I look back, it sure was cool
For those Four Boys from Liverpool

…I can’t help but smile. It’s nice to see a Beatle reflect back on his memories with the most important band in rock music with such a non-cynical view.

Other highlights on Liverpool 8 include the songs “Gone Are the Days,” “Give It a Try” and “If It’s Love That You Want,” although every track on the record is very good, if not great.

Liverpool 8 will be available on January 15th and is being released on CD, USB Wristband and digitally. The USB Wristband features the entire album, video message from Ringo, interview, behind the scenes footage of the recording sessions, photos, track commentary and much more. Pretty cool to see Ringo embracing the digital age in such a great way!

“Nostalgia is but a mirror image of what can never be forgotten”.
Ringo is and always will be remembered as one of the Beatles who contributed all he had to the music world and man he had a lot. I would not hesitate to see thim in concert and I believe it is only a matter of time. I have only heard the songs “Liverpool 8 and Gone Are the Days” These two songs truly reveal the life and times of a band that will never be forgotten and how much each member offered their best in order to entertain the world,. This is the Greatest Band ever known and always will be remembered as the four boys from Liverpool who became known as “The Beatles”. Simply Outstanding! Carry On Ringo Starr.
