The National - “The White Sessions”

One of my most favorite bands, The National, recently recorded a “White Sessions” show which broadcast over French radio today. For those who have never seen or heard this band live, you are really missing a treat. Hopefully a listen to this will inspire you to purchase tickets and see this band the next time […]

Misheard Lyrics - “Yellow Ledbetter” (Pearl Jam)

This is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a while:

The Smashing Pumpkins - “God and Country”

Well, today was a very special day in Pumpkinland. The band played their first show since disbanding on December 2nd of 2000.
They played to a sold-out crowd at the Grand Rex in Paris with what can only be described as a KILLER setlist.
Slowly but surely, audio and video is being released from this show, including […]

The Smashing Pumpkins - “Tarantula” (Full Song)

Well it’s finally happened; the full version of “Tarantula” has made it’s way on to the web and this song ROCKS beyond belief.
To all those naysayers that thought “The Smashing Pumpkins 2.0″ would never be able to live up to the original is about to be proven wrong. (Siamese Dream was all Billy and Jimmy […]

Zeitgeist Artwork

No, this is not a Smashing Pumpkins fan-site. I know it feels like it, but tough shit!
The artwork for Zeitgeist has finally been revealed below. Unfortunately, it looks as if the label caved into the traditional Tuesday release date because it’s now being listed for 7/10/07 instead of the much catchier (and earlier) 7/7/07.

The National Treasure

There’s a great article on the rising success of The National in the most recent Village Voice. Check out the article here. Kind of crazy to think that these guys could be on their way to have Modest Mouse type success.
For some pics of last weeks fantastic The National / Arcade Fire show at Radio […]

The Smashing Pumpkins - “Tarantula”

Anyone that’s interested in downloading a :30 tease of The Smashing Pumpkins new single “Tarantula” can head over here for an mp3.
Update: Link removed per label’s request.

Murdering the Classics

The only thing lamer than tribute albums are Smashing Pumpkins tribute albums. Word came out today that MySpace Records is releasing a Smashing Pumpkins tribute album chock full of some of today’s lamest artists. (Save for Ben Kweller.)
The whoa-is-me-time-to-cut-myself tracklist thus far consists of:
Panic! at the Disco - “Tonight, Tonight”
(+44) - “I Am One”
The Academy […]

Reno 911 - Jaws of Life

I unfortunately never got around to seeing Reno 911 Miami in theaters, but it will be released to DVD next month. I’ve loved this show from day 1 and thought the movie trailer looked quite funny.
The new season has started up on Comedy Central, so if you have seen the show, I bet you ‘ll […]

James - Fresh as a Daisy

I was very upset when Tim Booth, lead singer of one of my all-time favorite bands James, announced he was leaving to pursue other projects. They never officially announced a “breakup” but it pretty much went without saying. Tim went on to release a solo record which was less-then-stellar to put it nicely, and us […]
