Augustana - “Mayfield”
Augustana
is one of those bands I thought I would hate before I listened to them.
On the surface, they appear to be another generic “alternative” band
signed to a Major Label (Epic), but to my surprise, their debut album
is really, really good.
The lead singer, Dan Layus, reminds me
slightly of Cinjun Tate (Remy Zero). There are also hints of Counting
Crows and Elbow at times.
