The Party Party

The Party Party
is one of the coolest mashup albums I’ve ever heard. Somebody with a
keen ear and too much time on their hands created a compilation of
George W. Bush singing hit songs. Be sure to check out “Sunday Bloody
Sunday,” “Imagine,” and “My Generation.” This is truly one of the
coolest things I’ve heard in a while.

Everybody Hates UPN

Last year, the only reason to ever flip on UPN was to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Kristin Bell
from “Veronica Mars.” (Surprisingly, not a bad show!) Well, now you
have two reasons…”Everybody Hates Chris.” Chris Rock’s show debuted
last Thursday and was one of the best new comedies of the year.
For those that missed it, Google […]

Sigur Rós - Live In Boston

Brady’s Almanac
is hosting mp3s of Sigur Rós’ show from Boston’s Opera House on
September 15th. I had the opportunity to see Sigur Rós when they played
NYC’s Beacon Theater and it was perhaps the best show I’ve ever seen in
my life.
You can download the tracks individually from Brady’s Almanac for a limited time, or grab them here.
Tracklist:
1. […]

Rent & Rate: Monster In Law

At the Fuzzy Lion home office, we have a newly acquired Netflix
subscription. With the speed of the movie-to-DVD turnaround, we have
opted to save cash and watch movies from the enjoyment of our office.
The new section “R&R”” is devoted to movie reviews of current
and/or old movies that we never got around to watching. We hope these
reviews […]

Stream: Ryan Adams - Jacksonville City Nights

Scenestars is streaming Ryan Adams & The Cardinals Jacksonville City Nights in its entirety here. Simply click on the picture of Rachel’s head and choose “radio.”
On first listen, it’s much more country than Cold Roses and is summed up by Rachel best when she says:
Because
this record can hardly be called anything less than straight-forward
country, I […]

Augustana - “Mayfield”

Augustana
is one of those bands I thought I would hate before I listened to them.
On the surface, they appear to be another generic “alternative” band
signed to a Major Label (Epic), but to my surprise, their debut album
is really, really good.
The lead singer, Dan Layus, reminds me
slightly of Cinjun Tate (Remy Zero). There are also hints […]

Too Many DJs!

It seems like every time I open my email box there’s another invite to
watch someone DJ. Whether it’s a celebrity DJ, a band member showcasing
as a DJ, or simply a friend, it’s seems like everyone can DJ. Now I
like music more than most and I also love hanging out with friends and
drinking;. however, inviting someone […]

Eminem - “The Kids”

I’ve never been a huge fan of hip-hop, although there are certain
groups that I really do like such as Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Black
Sheep, and Digable Planets, to name a few. Also on that list is Eminem.
An old college roommate of mine introduced me to the unreleased Eminem
song “The Kids” and to this day it […]
